Willy Sagnol's first game in charge of Bayern Munich sees the Bundesliga giants squander a two-goal lead against Hertha Berlin in a 2-2 draw at the Olympiastadion.

Bayern Munich squandered a two-goal lead for the second Bundesliga game running as Sunday's away encounter at Hertha Berlin ended in a 2-2 draw.

The visitors, with Willy Sagnol in interim charge following Carlo Ancelotti's sacking, were quick out the starting blocks and registered three half-chances in the opening five minutes.

In the 10th minute, Bayern took the lead as a deep cross from Jerome Boateng found Mats Hummels, who deftly nodded the ball into the bottom corner of the Hertha net.

Hertha enjoyed several chances of their own, however, with Vladimir Darida racing through the middle to the edge of the box on 16 minutes and firing just wide of the left post.

Moments later, the hosts were awarded a penalty, only for the decision to be overturned by VAR.

Despite several nervy moments, Bayern could nonetheless have had two or three more goals before half time, with Robert Lewandowski fluffing numerous efforts.

The Polish striker did manage to get himself on the scoresheet shortly after the restart as he capitalised on a mistake by the opposition defence to bear down on goal and fired past Rune Jarstein.

However, the German capital club halved the deficit in the 51st minute, Ondrej Duda tapping home into an empty net after Genki Haraguchi squared the ball for the Slovakian midfielder.

It got even better for the home fans just five minutes later as Salomon Kalou latched on to a loose ball following a free kick and slotted through Sven Ulreich's legs and into the bottom corner.

That goal would prove to be the last of the game as Bayern were forced to settle for another draw, and the visitors' afternoon got even worse as Franck Ribery was forced off through injury during the game.
