Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has talked up the Champions League record of incoming head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The Bundesliga champions confirmed this morning that the Italian boss would arrive at the Allianz Arena in the summer as a replacement for the departing Pep Guardiola.
Speaking about why Bayern had turned to the 56-year-old, Rummenigge pinpointed the number of European Cups that he has lifted.
"Carlo Ancelotti has enjoyed success everywhere as a coach and has won the Champions League three times," he told the club's official website.
"Carlo is a calm, balanced expert, who knows how to deal with stars and favours a multifaceted style of play. We were looking for this and we have found it."
Ancelotti won the Champions League with AC Milan twice and Real Madrid once.
