Blackburn Rovers have made an impressive start to life without Henning Berg.
The managerless Lancashire outfit, who are under the temporary stewardship of reserve-team boss Gary Bowyer, lead Barnsley 2-0 at the midway stage courtesy of goals from Joshua King and Ruben Rochina.
King broke the deadlock on 29 minutes, collecting Jordan Rhodes's neat pass before firing home from 16 yards.
Rochina then produced a solo strike to double his side's lead in the final minute of the first half.
Barnsley have not recorded a home victory in their last 10 matches at Oakwell, a winless run which stretches back to September.
