Blackburn Rovers manager Henning Berg has responded to reports that he stormed out of the club's Christmas party on Monday evening.
Several stories over the past 24 hours had claimed that the Norwegian reacted angrily when he was called up on stage and then asked to wear a wig and perform a dance.
Berg has now confirmed the speculation and stated that he refused to take part because of the team's recent performances.
"On Monday evening, the club arranged its official Christmas Party for all employees and staff. We have many hard-working employees and this was an opportunity for them to relax and enjoy themselves after what has been a difficult year," he told the club's official website.
"After the dinner I was asked to go to the stage, which I was happy to do, believing I would be asked a few questions or maybe judge a competition.
"Instead I was asked to do things which were not the right things for me to do as the manager, considering our league position and form. I did not want to do it and went back to my table."
Rovers are currently 15th in the Championship.
