A Bakary Sako goal 15 minutes from time has given Wolverhampton Wanderers a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park this afternoon.
Paul Robinson was called into action for the hosts after just five minutes when Sako squeezed a shot between two defenders, forcing the former England keeper into a save.
Robinson was beaten 15 minutes later when Sylvan Ebanks-Blake got on the end of Kevin Foley's cross, but the post saved Blackburn from falling behind.
The hosts tested Carl Ikeme towards the end of the first half through Jordan Rhodes and Colin Kazim-Richards, but the Wolves keeper was equal to both efforts.
Wolves had to wait until the 74th minute for their next clear opening as Anthony Forde got into the Blackburn box but could only fire wide.
The visitors took the lead just three minutes later, however, as Bakary Sako slammed the ball home after Blackburn failed to clear a corner, scoring what proved to be the winner.
