Jordan Rhodes struck deep into stoppage time to give Blackburn Rovers a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers at Ewood Park this evening.
Rhodes, who was recalled to the side ahead of Rudy Gestede, fired a late winner for the home side to move them up to 10th in the Championship.
Adam le Fondre fired in an ambitious effort from range for the visitors on 11 minutes, but the striker's attempt was comfortably gathered by goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Matthew Kilgallon went close for Blackburn shortly after when his overhead kick went just wide, and the home side were forced into a change after the half-hour mark when Corry Evans limped off for Lee Williamson.
Le Fondre linked up nicely with his strike partner Emile Heskey on 33 minutes, but the former once again failed to trouble the keeper from range.
After the break Tom Cairney forced Ben Amos into a save to deny his long-range effort before Doneil Henry almost marked his home debut with a header.
Blackburn had a penalty appeal waved away after the hour mark when Rhodes went down on the edge of the area.
Rovers boss Gary Bowyer replaced Chris Brown for Gestede inside the final 20 minutes as the home side pushed for a winner, but it was Rhodes who finally made the breakthrough in stoppage time.
