Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has confirmed that a proposed move for former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler will not go ahead.
The 48-year-old claimed earlier this week that a deal was unlikely to materialise.
Holloway has now stated that the Reds legend didn't believe that a switch to the Championship club was a desirable move.
"I had a chat with my chairman and I had a chat with Robbie, and we aren't going to get that deal going," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette.
"Karl Oyston's idea of what Robbie could do and how he could do it didn't match up with what Robbie wants. I had a go, but he doesn't feel this club is right for him.
"I'd have loved to have got him in as he would have offered us something different. There's no animosity. I really liked him but we have to move on now."
Reports surfaced suggesting that the Tangerines were planning to offer the 36-year-old £100 per week.
