Bologna have won promotion back to Serie A after just one season outside of the Italian top flight.
The Rossoblu were relegated last season, but they came through a two-legged playoff against Pescara to earn their place back among the country's elite.
They had played out a goalless draw with their opponents in the first leg of the decider, before strikes from Gianluca Sansone and Cristian Pasquato saw tonight's return meeting end in a 1-1 draw.
As away goals are not used in the playoffs, the team who came higher in Serie B during the regular season would earn promotion, meaning that Bologna's fourth-placed finish was enough to edge out Pescara, who ended in seventh.
Serie B champions Carpi and runners-up Frosinone have also won promotion to next season's top flight.
