Giampaolo Pazzini's double at the San Siro sees AC Milan return to winning ways in Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Bologna.
The game took some time to kick into life and when it did, it was one-way traffic with Milan pulling all the strings.
Stephan El Shaarawy went on a sole run to create the match's first genuine chance but his effort was parried away by Federico Agliardi.
Kevin-Prince Boateng and M'baye Niang went close for the Rossoneri and then Pazzini's glancing header was nicely saved by Agliardi.
Kevin Constant could have put Milan in the lead before the half-time interval but failed to make the most of a good ball from Niang.
The home side continued to control proceedings at the San Siro in the second half, as Philippe Mexes, Niang and Boateng all tried their luck in the opening five minutes.
Pazzini missed a very good chance just before the hour mark when he shot just wide from yards out after some good work from Ignazio Abate.
However, the Italian striker redeemed himself in the 64th minute when he collected Abate's cross inside the Bologna penalty area and saw his shot go in after deflecting off of Mikael Antonsson.
Pazzini made it 2-0 to Milan in the 82nd minute when he controlled the ball nicely inside the Bologna area and smashed it home from just 10 yards.
Two minutes later Mexes turned Cristian Pasquato's cross from the left into his own net, but Milan held on for a 2-1 win.
