Championship strugglers Bolton Wanderers are on course for their fourth defeat in five games after falling 1-0 behind to Rotherham United.
In a quiet opening for both sides, Jay Spearing created the first chance of note on nine minutes when his cross found Matt Mills, but his effort was blocked by the Rotherham rearguard.
Bolton appeared to have grabbed the upper hand when Spearing again crossed for Dorian Dervite, who couldn't breach the visitors' back line.
However, it was Rotherham who took the lead later in the half when Anthony Wordsworth curled a free kick past Andy Lonergan.
The goal was met with boos among the sparse crowd at the Macron Stadium, with Wanderers still hunting a first league win of the season.
Bolton kicked off the game two points from safety.
