Bolton Wanderers midfielder Liam Feeney has expressed his delight at scoring two goals to help the team beat Cardiff City in the Championship.
Feeney marked his return to the starting lineup with a brace on Tuesday night as the Trotters won 3-0 at home to move to within one point of safety.
While admitting that he is pleased to be back in the side and scoring goals, the 27-year-old insists that the result was more important.
"I've been out of the team for a couple of weeks so it was not only important for me that I had a good game, but to be part of a good team performance as well," he told the club's official website. "I am really pleased that I got my two goals, but even more pleased that it helped us get the win.
"I thought we looked really good. Cardiff are a very good team. They've come down from the Premier League and have a very good squad. We knew it was going to be a tough game but I thought we were excellent and worthy winners."
Bolton continue their league campaign on Saturday with the visit of Wigan Athletic.
