Sebastian Kehl has admitted that time is running out for him to "win something big" with Borussia Dortmund.
The 32-year-old has won three Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal crown during his time at the Westfalenstadion, where he is captain of the team.
Die Borussen travel to the Donbass Arena for their Champions League last-16 showdown with Shakhtar Donestk tomorrow.
Kehl, who joined the club from Freiburg in 2001, said that winning Europe's most coveted prize at his age would taste even sweeter.
"I will not have many more opportunities to win something big, but we want to start doing so tomorrow," Kehl told reporters.
"I came here when I was very young but was trusted with a place in the side. Now I hope we will be lucky enough to win something this season – it would be even more special at my age."
Dortmund's only triumph in the competition came in 1997.
