Borussia Dortmund take a 1-0 lead into the break against Wolfsburg after Marco Reus opened the scoring for the visitors.
Dortmund were awarded a free kick after Maximillian Arnold fouled Ilkay Gundogan and the midfielder took the set piece himself, only to see his effort rebound back off the crossbar and cleared.
A few minutes later, Sven Bender almost scored after a corner was returned to Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the Armenian crossed it back in but the German could not convert from close range as he also hit the bar.
The away side continued to pour forward as Matthias Ginter was put through but his cross to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was cut out by Naldo, who could only lift the ball over the bar from close range and out for a corner.
However, Dortmund would find the breakthrough just after the half-hour as Joshua Guilavogui had possession pinched off him by Mkhitaryan and Reus latched on to the loose ball before rounding the on-rushing Diego Benaglio to open the scoring.
Naldo looked to equalise quickly as he met a Vierinha corner but the ball was cleared off the line by Mkhitaryan.
Arnold was the next to have a chance for Wolfsburg after a corner was cleared to the German, but the midfielder could not keep his effort down despite being in plenty of space.
