Mats Hummels has claimed that Borussia Dortmund never recovered from falling behind in the third minute of their Champions League defeat to Juventus.
Carlos Tevez opened the scoring with a long-range effort to send his side on the way to a 3-0 victory in the second leg of the last-16 tie, and Hummels admits that Dortmund could have no arguments with the 5-1 aggregate loss.
"That was a shock, no doubt. Still, we got into our game and the first half was okay. But during the second we totally lost our performance," the defender told reporters.
"We had misunderstandings and lost every ball. Nothing worked any more. I have no idea why. We deserved to lose in the end, we were not on the same level as Juve."
Dortmund, who have not scored in any of their last three games, will return to action against Hannover on Sunday.
