Adrian Ramos's fourth Bundesliga goal of the season fired Hertha Berlin to a narrow victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening.
Ramos headed Per Skjelbred's whipped free kick into to the top left corner of the net after 36 minutes at the Olympic Stadium.
The result was slightly harsh on Monchengladbach, who dominated possession and created the majority of the chances.
However, Hertha goalkeeper Thomas Kraft was in fine form, producing crucial stops to deny Max Kruse on two occasions.
A frustrating day got worse for the visitors in stoppage time when Martin Stranzl was sent off after collecting his second yellow card.
Hertha climb above Monchengladbach into fourth place in the German top flight.
