Safet Susic signs a new two-year contract to remain Bosnia-Herzegovina manager throughout their qualifying campaign for the 2016 European Championships.

Safet Susic has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain as manager of Bosnia-Herzegovina up until the 2016 European Championships.

The 59-year-old had suggested that he was going to step down following their failure to progress to the knockout stages of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, the country's football federation feels that he is the "best option" to take them into qualifying for the next major tournament in France in two years' time, and have offered him a new two-year deal.

A statement on nfsbih.ba read: "The 21st regular session of the executive board of the NS/FS BiH decided that Safet Susic will be the selector of the Bosnia and Herzegovina 'A' team for the next two years.

"The current coach is our best option in qualification for the European Championship in 2016 in France, starting with the first game against Cyprus on 09.09.2014 in our country."

Susic's side follow their meeting with Cyprus with games against top seeds and World Cup quarter-finalists Belgium, Israel, Wales and Andorra in their Group B qualification campaign.
