Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Luis Sinisterra will miss Sunday's away meeting with Aston Villa due to a hamstring injury.
Sinisterra missed three matches with injury before he returned to the starting lineup for last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium.
However, the Colombia international was unable to make it to half time and was ultimately replaced in the 39th minute by Lloyd Kelly.
While Antoine Semenyo has been passed fit for Sunday's fixture, Iraola has revealed that Sinisterra will be unavailable for the trip to Villa Park.
"We will recover Semenyo," Iraola told reporters at Friday's press conference. "He will be part of the squad if everything goes well tomorrow in training. That's it. We are losing Sini from the other day. He is obviously injured, and we don't expect any more changes."
Sinisterra likely to miss rest of season
The Bournemouth boss also indicated that Sinisterra is likely to miss Bournemouth's final six matches of the 2023-24 campaign.
"It's going to be difficult [to play again this season]," Iraola said. "It's a strain so it's going to be really tight.
"I don't know if he will be recovered to play the last game but it's going to be difficult because the normal time is three or four weeks.
"These kinds of injuries take time and I'm sure he will try; he will be ready for his national team if they consider him but it's going to be difficult for him to play this season."
As it stands, Sinisterra is set to finish his first season as a Bournemouth player with four goals and three assists in 27 competitive appearances.
Iraola provides Tavernier update
Iraola was more positive about Marcus Tavernier's chances of returning from a hamstring injury before the end of the campaign.
The Bournemouth boss added: "I'm more optimistic with Marcus because the injury was before, with one week it gives you some more chance but definitely he's not going to be involved this week."
Tyler Adams is expected to miss Sunday's fixture with a back problem, while Chris Mepham is unavailable due to illness.
Having picked up 42 points from 32 matches, the Cherries are sitting in 13th place and five points away from equalling a club record for a single Premier League season. body check tags ::
