Eddie Howe keen to focus on positives after defeat to Everton

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists that his side 'did not deserve to lose' against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

Eddie Howe has declared himself "pleased" with Bournemouth's display against Everton, despite seeing his side fall to a 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park.

The Cherries took the lead through Joshua King four minutes into the second half and looked good value to hold on for a third successive win in all competitions.

Oumar Niasse came off the bench to turn the game on its head, however, scoring twice in the space of five minutes to leave the Cherries reeling.

Despite the late collapse, Howe believes that there are positives to take away from the slender loss on Merseyside.

"You're never happy when you lose," he told reporters. "But I don't think we deserved to lose today. I haven't seen the goals again - I'll have to analyse them - but when you have possession of the ball and you give it away and concede that is something for us to look at.

"From our perspective we have to be pleased with the performance, even though the result has gone against us, that can't be lost. For a long period of the game you'd say it was a really good away performance - we were good out of possession, we were good without the ball, we were good on the counter-attack. Today we saw a lot of the ball and I thought we were well in that game."

Bournemouth have now lost 28 points from winning positions in the Premier League since the start of last season - more than any other side in the division.
