Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Solly March has revealed his delight after making his Premier League debut against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
March, 23, came through the youth system at Brighton, and was named in Chris Hughton's starting XI for the clash against Pep Guardiola's Man City at the Falmer Stadium.
March has admitted that his team struggled to compete with the Citizens in the 2-0 defeat, but the midfielder said that it was "a proud moment" for him to feature in England's top flight for the first time.
"It was a tough game and a tough introduction into the Premier League, but we know we aren't going to be facing teams like that every week. We are looking forward to next week," March told reporters.
"We had them under pressure for five minutes or so, but they are hard to play against. It was a special day for all of us and it was a proud moment to make my Premier League debut."
Next up for newly-promoted Brighton is a trip to Leicester City on August 19.
