Sports Mole previews Sunday's Women's Super League clash between Brighton & Hove Albion Women and Everton Ladies, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Brighton & Hove Albion Women will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat on the final matchday of the WSL season.

The Seagulls will play host to Everton Ladies on Sunday, with the visitors hoping to end a seven-game winless run in all competitions.

Match preview

Brighton currently occupy seventh position, and they will finish in the top half of the table if they win on Sunday and West Ham lose to Arsenal.

Although they may be targeting a top-half place, the Seagulls have struggled in recent weeks, losing three consecutive matches.

The defeats to Manchester United and Birmingham City were followed by a heavy 7-2 defeat away to Manchester City last weekend.

Goals from Inessa Kaagman and Julia Zigiotti Olme were the only positives from a disappointing performance, with Khadija Shaw netting four goals to help Man City to victory.

Hope Powell will also be concerned by her side's recent home form, which has seen Brighton win just one of their last six home league games.

The visitors have fallen below expectations this season, and they enter the final weekend of the WSL season in 10th position.

The best that Everton can hope for is a ninth-placed finish, but to stand any chance of doing that they must halt a seven-game winless run in all competitions.

They can at least take confidence from their battling performance against Tottenham last weekend, with the Toffees having to come from behind on two occasions to clinch a point.

Danielle Turner equalised in the 85th minute following Asmita Ale's opener before Josie Green immediately restored Tottenham's lead, however, Everton fought back once more as Megan Finnigan found the net in stoppage time to ensure that the spoils were shared.

The Toffees will now turn their attention to Sunday's contest where they will be attempting to avenge the 1-0 defeat that they suffered in the reverse fixture.

Team News

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the final game of the season.

Fliss Gibbons returned to the squad for the Man City contest and the 27-year-old is expected to be on the bench once again for Sunday's encounter.

Meanwhile, Zigiotti Olme will be aiming to score in a third consecutive match for the Seagulls.

As for the visitors, Turner could come into the starting lineup after scoring as a second-half substitute against Tottenham.

There could also be places in the starting XI for Kenza Dali and Claire Emslie, which could result in Anna Anvegard and Poppy Pattinson dropping down to the bench.

Toni Duggan is set to continue to lead the line for the visitors, with the striker looking to end a seven-game goal drought.

Brighton & Hove Albion Women possible starting lineup:
Walsh; Le Tissier, Koivisto, Williams, Kullberg; Kaagman, Carter, Connolly, Zigiotti Olme, Green; Lee

Everton Ladies possible starting lineup:
Maciver; Bjorn, Finnigan, Turner; Maier, Bennison, Graham, Magill; Dali, Emslie, Duggan

We say: Brighton & Hove Albion Women 2-2 Everton Ladies

Both teams are struggling to pick up wins, and with that in mind, we think that the two teams will play out a draw on Sunday to wrap up the WSL season.
