Brisbane Roar have won the Premier's Plate with a late 1-0 triumph over Melbourne Victory at the Suncorp Stadium.
The opening 10 minutes saw both sides play some decent football, but they found it difficult to find any room to create a chance.
However, Lawrence Thomas had to be alert to keep out Diogo Ferreira and Dimitri Petratos as the hosts pushed for the first goal.
The Roar began to dominate after that, with Liam Miller going close after controlling a cross in the box.
Melbourne were sloppy in possession, although they did manage a rare foray into the Roar area when Tomas Rogic's effort was held by Michael Theo.
Theo also dived to his left to push away James Troisi's powerful shot, and then denied Kosta Barbarouses as the midfielder went through on goal.
The away side were on the back foot at the start of the second half, but they were still a danger on the counter-attack.
However, they needed goalkeeper Thomas to be at his best to keep out Henrique after Miller had played him in.
The hosts continued to create chances as the match progressed. Thomas, however, was again there to keep them out. Rogic then saw a rare effort go high over the crossbar for Victory.
However, just when it seemed like the match would end goalless, Brattan slammed home a long-range shot.
