Derek McInnes tips Leicester City for promotion

Bristol City manager Derek McInnes backs Leicester to be playing Premier League football next season after seeing his side lose 2-0 to them this afternoon.

Bristol City boss Derek McInnes has tipped Leicester City to get promoted to the Premier League this season.

McInnes watched the Foxes move to the top of the Championship this afternoon courtesy of a 2-0 win over his team - Leicester's fifth win in a row.

McInnes wasn't completely happy with his side's performance, but acknowledged that they were playing a better side.

"I felt we were always in the game but their second came just as the home crowd had quietened down. I think we've seen the team that will be in the Premier League next season. We had to change our shape to cope with them," said McInnes.

"We would have expected them to work harder for their goals though. We didn't carve any clear-cut chances either. The players worked hard and I couldn't fault that. We made them work at 1-0 and were in the game until their second. We're not the perfect team but we'll always be competitive. We went toe to toe with a very good side. We know we can improve.

"We'll get fitness levels up for some during the international break and we'll rest others who have played more games. It's important we get around each other and support each other."

The defeat leaves Bristol City 17th in the Championship table.
