Bristol City have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Adam El-Abd for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the League One outfit.
Bristol manager Steve Cotterill told the club's official website: "Adam is a tough cookie and brings a wealth of experience to the club. Any good back four needs someone like Adam.
"He's capable of playing football from the back and we're delighted to have him here to complement the good defenders already on our books.
"If he's half as popular here as he is at Brighton then that will be great, and I know he will be."
El-Abd made 342 appearances for Brighton during 11 years with the club.
