Sports Mole previews Sunday's FA Cup clash between Solihull Moors and Bromley, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Solihull Moors and Bromley will be attempting to reach the FA Cup third round when they square off on Sunday afternoon.

At a time when the home side sit in ninth place in the National League table, Bromley occupy 19th position in League Two.

Match preview

Since the end of September, Solihull have seemingly been on an upward path after posting just one defeat in 10 matches, that coming away at Gateshead.

However, successive losses over the past week have taken away their previous good work, leaving them five points adrift of the top six.

Andy Whing's side suffered a 4-3 defeat at home to Hartlepool United, falling behind within six minutes of taking a 3-2 lead.

A 1-0 reverse at Sutton United followed on Tuesday night, just the second time since September 7 that Solihull have failed to score.

The draw has been kind to Solihull thus far, with Altrincham and Maidstone United each being defeated to move one tie away from a potential money-spinner in January.

Meanwhile, Bromley can be satisfied with sitting in 19th place in their first-ever appearance in League Two, helped by a five-game unbeaten streak.

Although four of those games have ended in draws, Andy Woodman's side have deserved far more, especially ay high-flying Walsall in midweek when they were the better team for large periods.

Nevertheless, it will still be viewed as a point gained to sit four points above the relegation zone, as well as possessing just a -2 goal difference which could prove pivotal moving forward.

Bromley won a thriller at Rochdale to reach this stage of the competition, scoring twice in added-on time to prevail by a 4-3 scoreline.

Team News

Despite defeat in midweek, Whing is unlikely to overly tinker with his Solihull XI.

Ollie Tipton and Matt Warburton are both options to come into defence and midfield respectively, but Conor Wilkinson will lead the line having netted four times in his last three outings.

Carl Jenkinson is in contention for a recall to the side having recently served a suspension and remaining on the substitutes' bench in midweek.

However, Woodman may see no reason to make any alterations to a team that created a hatful of chances against Walsall.

Cameron Congreve is an alternative to be introduced into the final third.

Solihull Moors possible starting lineup:
Walker; Oakley, Whitmore, Morrison, Newton; Bostock, Osborne; Adu-Poku, Bowen, Stevenson; Wilkinson

Bromley possible starting lineup:
Smith; Sowunmi, Webster, Grant; Imray, Arthurs, Thompson, Odutayo; Cheek, Olomola, Whitely

We say: Solihull Moors 1-2 Bromley

With home advantage, Solihull will back themselves to cause a surprise and earn a place in the third round. However, Bromley are on an upward trajectory and their performance at Walsall earlier this week suggested that their superior class could shine through.
