Liverpool's pre-season campaign has got off to a losing start with a late 2-1 defeat against Brondby in Denmark.
Following a lively opening, the hosts took the lead on 23 minutes when Christian Norgaard capitalised on some poor defending before curling the ball past Brad Jones and into the top corner.
Liverpool responded positively after going behind, but Jordan Rossiter and Philippe Coutinho were both denied by the goalkeeper.
The Reds had another great chance to draw level on the stroke of half time, but Lucas Leiva had his effort saved from close range.
However, it took Brendan Rodgers's side just three minutes after the break to make it 1-1 as Kristoffer Peterson slotted in following a marauding run from Jordan Ibe.
Both teams continued to attack for much of the second period, and Brondby almost got themselves back in front with 25 minutes left when the dangerous Thomas Kahlenberg rattled the crossbar with a free kick.
Ibe and Jon Flanagan were then kept out at the other end, while Brondby's Ferhan Hasani hit the woodwork with eight minutes left to play as the two sides pushed for a winner.
The decisive goal finally came in the first minute of stoppage time when Hasani broke into the Liverpool box before finding the top corner.
