Sam Vokes's volley was cancelled out by Carl Baker's header as Burnley and MK Dons played out a 1-1 draw in the first half at Turf Moor this evening.
The Clarets went close on 16 minutes when Michael Kightly met Tendayi Darikwa's cross, but the winger could only head over the bar.
Andre Gray should have done better for Burnley moments later after good work from Vokes, but the former Brentford star couldn't finish off the chance from close range.
Michael Keane almost broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark when he rose highest from a corner, but his header could only clip the top of the crossbar.
Sean Dyche's side continued to press for the opener and Gray's heavy touch saw his chance smothered by Dons keeper David Martin.
Vokes eventually made the home side's pressure count when he swivelled on the edge of the box before unleashing a volley that left Martin with no chance on 32 minutes.
However, as the half crept into stoppage time, Baker rose highest to level the scores up.
