Burnley manager Sean Dyche has revealed that defender Steven Reid has done everything asked of him during his time at Turf Moor.
Reid announced earlier this week that he will retire from professional football at the end of the season, and Dyche has paid tribute to the 34-year-old who has been hampered by injuries since joining the Clarets last summer.
The 43-year-old told the club's official website: "Reidy has been a fantastic servant to a few different clubs over the years and he's someone I personally class as a good friend as well as a fantastic professional.
"He's done exactly what I brought him here to do because he knew the game time would be minimal compared to previous seasons.
"But I wanted him to be around the group and show the true professional that he is and he has done that during the campaign."
Reid is expected to feature when Burnley travel to the West Midlands to face Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
