Tom Heaton: 'Burnley can take momentum into next season'

Burnley keeper Tom Heaton believes that his side can take momentum into their quest to earn promotion back to the Premier League by winning their final two matches.

Burnley keeper Tom Heaton has insisted that his side can use the end of the season to kickstart their drive to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

The Clarets were relegated from the top flight after just one campaign despite their 1-0 victory over Hull City at the KC Stadium last week.

However, Heaton believes that his team can begin their push to get back into the Premier League by beating Stoke City and Aston Villa in their final two matches of the season.

He told the club's official website: "It would drive you mad if you do the whole 'what if' thing but we can look back, reflect and then move things forward. I think looking at it as a whole, as individuals and as a team we need to learn from it and build upon it next season.

"There is certainly an awful lot of hunger to get back into the Premier League now we've had a taste of it. That starts with the next two games, trying to build some momentum and then moving that in to the next season.

"The lads are still training with the same intensity as they have done all season and there has certainly been no let up. Then the focus will be on building for next season and looking to get back into the Premier League."

Burnley play Stoke City at Turf Moor later today.
