Burnley midfielder David Jones insists that he and his teammates are not downbeat despite their winless start to the Premier League season.

Burnley midfielder David Jones has insisted that he and his teammates can't afford to feel sorry for themselves, despite their winless start to the season.

The Clarets are bottom of the Premier League with four points from their 10 matches, but Jones is adamant that the morale in Sean Dyche's squad is upbeat, even though they are yet to record a victory.

He told the club's official website: "I think people would probably look at it and think we'd be despondent, but at this club since I've been here we've been a positive squad. We don't dwell on disappointments because we're a resilient bunch of players and going into the game this weekend we're positive.

"People say you've got a must win on Saturday there is a possibility we won't win so what do you do? Go into hiding? In terms of that there is no panic because you could win, lose or draw and you certainly don't play good football when you panic.

"We're not being naive or hiding away from the situation but what is the best environment for you to go and perform? It's not being negative or panicky, it's about enjoying your football. That's what the manager has instilled here every day both on and off the field."

Burnley face Hull City in their Premier League clash later today.
