Burnley chairman Barry Kilby has revealed that his decision to stand down from the Championship club was due to a battle with cancer.
The businessman, who has stated that he will remain on the board of directors, will leave his post as chairman in May.
"I've been diagnosed with cancer so obviously it's going to be a big change in my life and I'm going to have to deal with it, so it was the right time to take stock and step down as chairman," The Express quotes Kilby as saying.
Kilby has been with the Clarets for 13 years.
