Burnley have secured a 2-1 victory over Swiss third-tier side Etoile Carouge in a pre-season friendly, surviving a strong finish from the hosts.
The English club were on the front foot from the start as Michael Kightly had a chance to open the scoring inside the first 10 minutes, curling the ball just over from the edge of the box.
Sean Dyche's men did break the deadlock just over quarter of an hour into the tie though as Matthew Taylor had his shot parried, leaving Lukas Jutkiewicz to pounce on the rebound.
Jutkiewicz and Kightly teamed up shortly before the break in a bid to double the Clarets' advantage, but the latter saw his swerving finish miss the target again.
Burnley did add a second early in the second half when George Boyd stepped up to take a free kick 25 yards out, rifling it home from the set piece to beat the stretching keeper.
The hosts threatened to get a goal back inside the final 15 minutes when Florian Dupont was given space in the Burnley box, but the midfielder scuffed his finish just wide.
Carouge were handed another chance to get on the scoreboard with less than 10 minutes remaining as Matt Gilks brought Inaki Fernandez down in the box, allowing Dupont to beat him from the penalty spot, but the home side ran out of time as they looked for a late equaliser.
