Davide Ballardini has been relieved of his duties as head coach of Serie A side Cagliari.
The club's board took the decision to fire the 48-year-old following their 6-3 defeat to Napoli on Friday evening.
Ballardini only took charge of the team in November 2011, replacing Massimo Ficcadenti.
During his reign, Cagliari won four matches from 17 outings.
