Cardiff City are reportedly hopeful of confirming Russell Slade as their new manager within the next 24 hours.
The 53-year-old handed in his resignation at Leyton Orient last night, and is today in South Wales to finalise terms before taking over at the Cardiff City Stadium, according to BBC Sport.
It remains to be seen whether or not Cardiff and Orient can reach a deal over compensation, however, which is said to be the key factor in today's talks.
Slade has spent four years with the O's, while he has also managed Brighton & Hove Albion, Grimsby Town and Yeovil Town.
The Bluebirds have been without a manager since parting company with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week following a poor run of form which has seen the club drop to 16th in the Championship table.
