Mehmet Dalman named Cardiff City chairman

Cardiff City confirm that director Mehmet Dalman has been promoted to club chairman ahead of the new Premier League season.

Cardiff City have confirmed that director Mehmet Dalman has been promoted to club chairman.

The change sees previous acting chairman Simon Lim resume his role as chief executive officer for the Premier League outfit.

"I am honoured to take up the role of Club Chairman at Cardiff City Football Club," Dalman told the club's official website.

"I have enjoyed my time at the club since joining the Board of Directors in January 2012 and now relish the opportunity to contribute further in my additional role as Chairman with Cardiff City in the Barclays Premier League."

Cardiff start the new season with a trip to West Ham United on August 17.
