Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has backed his side to remain focused and end their promotion hoodoo following a 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Ewood Park was left stunned as the Championship leaders extended their advantage with a clinical second-half display.
Mackay believes that Cardiff's ability to keep their run going over a busy December period will go a long way to deciding their fate this season.
He told Sky Sports News: "I thought the boys were excellent and I am delighted we caused them so many problems.
"Twenty new players have come into this club in the last 18 months and this is about the future and going forward.
"We need to be consistent and we need to keep momentum and keep picking up points. There are a lot of games coming up and it's a really important period."
Cardiff are now four points ahead of Crystal Palace in second place and eight points ahead of Leicester City in third.
