Cardiff City have announced that they have removed manager Malky Mackay from his position at the club.
The Scot had been under pressure at the Cardiff City Stadium after a disagreement with owner Vincent Tan, and after the club's 3-0 defeat to Southampton on Boxing Day, the Welsh outfit have announced his departure.
A statement on the club's official Twitter account read: "The Board of directors at Cardiff City have relieved Malky Mackay of his duties. A new first-team manager will be appointed in due course."
Mackay leaves Cardiff one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
