Cardiff City have stretched their lead at the top of the Championship table to seven points following a 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
The home side knocked on the door throughout the early stages of the first half, while Blackburn struggled to take a stronghold in the game by camping inside their own half.
Jake Kean was forced into an early save as Matthew Connolly fired a shot towards goal following an unsuccessful corner taken by Craig Bellamy.
Despite controlling the majority of the game, the deadlock was broken through Fraizer Campbell, who headed the ball into the back of the net from the back post following an effort from Bellamy that was cleared off the line.
Bellamy once again tried to cause trouble with another corner, but his inswinging effort was cleared by Colin Kazim-Richards.
Blackburn failed to make an impact in the second half and were punished for it when Cardiff netted a second goal through substitute Joe Mason, who fired the ball through the legs of the keeper.
In the dying minutes of the clash, Cardiff were able to clinch a 3-0 win courtesy of a penalty from Peter Whittingham, as they remain on course to reach the Premier League.
