Kenwyne Jones saves Cardiff City by netting a stoppage-time goal to give the team a 3-2 win over Brentford.

Kenwyne Jones scored in stoppage time to earn Cardiff City a 3-2 win over Brentford, who were three minutes away from clawing back a draw in Wales this evening.

Tony Watt managed to give Cardiff the lead in the 20th minute when he found the back of the net from close range after Craig Noone's attempt was parried by the goalkeeper.

Despite taking the lead, Cardiff looked vulnerable when Brentford launched counter-attacks, but the Bees were unable to make their chances count in the first half as Jones got past the goalkeeper to give his side a 2-0 advantage after 34 minutes.

After the break, Watt looked to nab a second goal before he was denied by the keeper, but Brentford began looking more threatening when Josh McEachran and Jota came off the substitutes' bench on the hour mark.

The tide began to turn when Jake Bidwell managed to head home from Alan Judge's corner in the 69th minute, and Cardiff struggled to respond as they kept dropping back, allowing Brentford to come onto them.

It was ecstasy for the travelling fans as John Swift found the equaliser with three minutes of normal time remaining, but in added time, Jones was able to spare Cardiff's blushes.

Scott Malone and Fabio de Silva combined well before feeding in Jones, who slotted home and made sure that all three points went to the Welsh outfit.

Cardiff are one point off a playoff place, while Brentford are 10th in the standings.

The Bees had only lost once in their last 10 Championship matches before this evening.
