Cardiff City defender Kevin Theophile-Catherine will spend the rest of the ongoing campaign on loan with French club Saint-Etienne.
The full-back arrived at the Cardiff City Stadium last summer and he went on to make 30 appearances in all competitions last term.
However, he has now been granted permission to return to his native France by Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, having previously played in Ligue 1 with Rennes.
The 24-year-old will wear the number two shirt during his stint at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
