Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has signed a new three-year contract with Championship outfit Cardiff City.
The 26-year-old's previous deal was due to expire in a year's time, but he has now committed to the Bluebirds until the summer of 2018.
"I've enjoyed some fantastic times already during the four seasons I've been here and look forward to many more as we aim to push on next season and beyond," Gunnarsson told the club website.
"I'd like to thank the City fans for their support and look forward to getting back out there with the rest of the lads for pre-season."
Gunnarsson joined Cardiff from Coventry City on a free transfer in 2011 and has gone on to score 18 goals in 168 appearances for the club. He is the Bluebirds' third-longest serving player behind Peter Whittingham and David Marshall.
