Espanyol came from two goals down to record a 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo in their La Liga opener this evening.
The hosts took the lead just before the break after what had been an uneventful first half when Michael Krohn-Dehli chipped the ball through to Alex Lopez, who turned quickly before firing it into the bottom corner.
Celta started the second half as they ended the first, doubling their lead just two minutes after the restart. One again Krohn-Dehli was the creator, curling a cross in towards Charles, who planted his header into the far corner.
Espanyol pulled a goal back just eight minutes later when Sergio Garcia's run saw the ball fall to Victor Sanchez on the edge of the box, and the former Barcelona midfielder made no mistake with a curling drive past Yoel.
The visitors then completed their comeback when Thievy Bifouma drove into the box before tucking the ball past the keeper.
Kiko Casilla had to be alert at the other end to keep a point intact for Espanyol late on, showing good reflexes to keep out Gustavo Cabral's downward header.
