Marco Sau's later winner gave Cagliari all three points with a 1-0 win against Cesena in Serie A this aftenoon.
The visitors started brightly, with Albin Ekdal having his effort blocked before Paul-Jose M'Poku struck high and wide.
Joao Pedro saw his shot comfortably saved by Federico Agliardi midway through the half, with Diego Farias also going close minutes later.
The home side had an opportunity to take the lead just before half time, but Gregoire Defrel's strike was kept out by Zeljko Brkic.
After the break, Cagliari looked the stronger of the two already-relegated sides, but failed to test Agliardi in the Cesena goal.
In injury time, Sau stepped up to give the visitors all three points.
With one game remaining, neither side can move in the table as they sit 18th and 19th repsectively.
