Sporting Lisbon manager Marco Silva has said that a draw would have been a fair outcome for his team in their Champions League meeting with Chelsea.
The Portuguese side went down to a first-half Nemanja Matic goal, but made Jose Mourinho's men work hard for the win in the second half.
"We did not start the match the way we wanted," Silva is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.com. "Chelsea began strongly and we were not able to block the fast players they have up front.
"When we were beginning to level things up we conceded the goal due to a lack of attention at a free kick.
"In the second half, we took some risks and created enough chances to get a draw that I think that would have been a fair result."
In the aftermath of the win, Mourinho now believes that Chelsea's destiny is in their own hands.
