The top seven clubs in the Premier League could reportedly be eligible to qualify for the Champions League in the future as UEFA plan to scrap the Europa League.
The European governing body's president Michel Platini has revealed that talks are continuing regarding the format of the elite competition and reports have claimed that the Europa League could be removed from the calendar due to the lack of revenue.
"There is an ongoing debate to determine what form the European competitions will have between 2015 and 2018," Platini told French newspaper Ouest-France. "We're discussing it, we will make a decision in 2014. Nothing is decided yet."
Currently the top four of the English league enter the Champions League.
