Read about how Brentford made it seven defeats in nine for flailing Charlton Athletic on matchday 13 of the Championship season.

Two London-based Championship teams in contrasting form met at The Valley this afternoon.

Hosts Charlton are now without a victory in nine after a 3-0 defeat to Brentford, who have won three in a row to move away from the relegation zone.

Relive today's match in South-East London with our minute-by-minute updates below.

Afternoon all! The feature 3pm kickoff this week in the Championship is a London derby as Brentford travel across the capital to take on Charlton at The Valley. Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's bring you the team news...
CHARLTON XI: Henderson; Solly, Bauer, Sarr, Fox; Gudmundsson, Cousins, Jackson, Moussa; Watt, Makienok
Subs: Pope, Bergdich, Ba, McAleny, Holmes-Dennis, Ghoochannejhad, Ahearne-Grant
BRENTFORD XI: Button; McCormack, Dean, Tarkowski, Bidwell; Yennaris, Diagouraga, Woods, Swift, Judge; Djuricin
Subs: Bonham, Hofman, Kerschbaumer, Vibe, O'Connell, Gogia, Canos
Starting with the home side, Guy Luzon has shaken up his Charlton side by making six changes as the Addicks go in search of their first win in nine league games. Stephen Henderson, Johnnie Jackson and Simon Makienok are among those to return.
Here is the setting for this afternoon's encounter. It's a grey day in London.

Brentford are going for three wins in a row today and it's hardly surprising to see interim head coach Lee Carsley name the same XI that started Wednesday's 2-0 win at Wolves.
Click here to see the Championship table as it looks right now. Six points out of six for Brentford in the last week has seen them climb to 15th, four points better off than Charlton in 22nd. Brentford could go as high as ninth this weekend, while Charton will drop to 23rd if Bolton beat Leeds.
H2H: Charlton are unbeaten in four league games against Brentford. Three of those were victories and the most convincing of all was a 3-0 triumph when they last met in February. Brentford have only scored once in those four matches and also only kept just one clean sheet in their last nine league games against the Addicks.
Just to put Charlton's shoddy run into perspective - they started the season with two wins and two draws to be in the playoff picture, but they have picked up just two points out of a possible 24 since to slump into the drop zone. How much longer has Luzon got as manager? It wouldn't be a huge surprise if he was sacked after a bad loss today :/

PREDICTION: With the players now receiving their pre-match team talk, it's time I made my prediction. I think it will be another winless day for Charlton, but they might get something from the game. I'm going for 1-1 at The Valley.
Tons of empty seats in South-East London today. There's been little to inspire in recent weeks for Charlton and could today's match be Luzon's last in charge? Interestingly, Malky Mackay is here today. Could he be the man being lined up to replace Luzon?
The two teams are out of the tunnel, with Brentford all in blue this afternoon. It's the kit they wore at Molineux on Tuesday night so they'll be hoping it brings similar luck today.
KICKOFF! Brentford get us underway in the capital. Big, big game this for Charlton. Can they end their winless streak?
Good start for Charlton as Watt surges forward and gets into the box before just losing control a little and failing to get a shot away.
CHANCE! Oh what a chance for Charlton! Watt's involved again as he powers down the right wing. His cross for Makienok is intercepted, but the loose ball falls into the path of the arriving Moussa and he drags his shot horribly wide. Shocking finish.
Brentford haven't had much joy in the Charlton half yet, but at the other end the Addicks continue to look threatening as Watt's deep cross finds an offside Makienok.
Better from Brentford as Djuricin bundles his way through a couple of tackles before his shot at goal is blocked.
CHANCE! Another great opportunity for Charlton to take the lead as Gudmundsson is played through on goal. This time Button is tested as the Icelandic international shoots straight at the Bees keeper.
CLOSE! How are Charlton not leading this game? Watt drills wide from the right of the area and you just wonder if the Addicks will regret not scoring in the first 10 minutes.
Everyone got their breath back? That was a hectic opening 10 minutes that Charlton completely dominated. They had three attempts on goal and all were good ones that they failed to score from.
First goal of the 3pm kickoffs in the Championship arrives up in Yorkshire as Derby County take the lead at Huddersfield through in-form Chris Martin. By the way, you should follow our dedicated @SMChampionship account for goals, news and much more from the second tier.
Half-chance for Brentford, who have stemmed the tide in the last few minutes. Tarkowski had to generate all the pace himself from about 10 yards and got the direction all wrong. Back to defence sunshine.
SHOT! Brentford coming into the game now and it's McCormack who has a go from 25 yards. It's a good hit with his weaker left foot, but Henderson watched it closely and saw it over the bar.
SAVE! First shot on target for the visitors as Judge surges down the left and unleashes a fierce drive. Henderson could only palm it back out into the box and Djuricin failed to react quickly enough to prod home.
At the other end it's Makienok who blazes over after some nifty footwork by Watt. As we approach the halfway mark of the opening 45, it's baffling how this match is still 0-0. We've had plenty of chances.
Interestingly, Brentford have now managed seven attempts on goal after their really slow start. They were extremely fortunate not to be behind early on but now we're beginning to see why they've won two in a row.
Bidwell with Brentford's eighth shot of the match as cuts in from the left-hand side and arrows a well-hit shot a good yard wide.
Moussa, trying to atone for his awful early miss, lets fly from distance and tests Button with a fizzing low drive. Charlton fans appeal for a corner, but Button did well to keep it in play.
GOAL! CHARLTON 0-1 BRENTFORD (JOHN SWIFT)
They should have been behind in the first 10 minutes, but now Brentford lead as on-loan Chelsea midfielder Swift scores his first goal for the Bees, heading home a brilliant cross from the right by Judge.
STAT: Before this weekend, only Blackburn's Craig Conway (50) had created more goalscoring chances for his teammates this season than Alan Judge (37).
Judge beginning to pull the strings now as he sends in a dangerous corner from the left after Brentford again threatened. Charlton have not responded well to going behind and now look like a side who are in an awful vein of form.
Shola Ameobi has just scored on his Bolton debut against Leeds, so that means that Charlton are down to 23rd in our live, as it stands table.
Excellent defending from Brentford left-back Bidwell as he outmuscles Solly before sliding in and managing to clear the ball out for a throw-in, not a corner.
Break in play as Yennaris receives treatment, but he'll be fine to continue. Charlton need a strong finish to the half as we enter the final 10 minutes.
Watt has been bright when he's had the ball in the first half and again his quick feet leave a Brentford defender for dead. However, his low cross is cut out.
Brentford corner after Judge again curled in an inviting cross. The former Blackburn man has been all over the pitch and his delivery is fierce every time.
CHANCE! Keen watchers of the Premier League will know what I mean when I say that Judge takes set pieces like Southampton's James Ward-Prowse. Loads of pace and curl. His corner here is deep and Djuricin is unmarked at the back post but skews it wide.
OFF THE BAR! Wallop! Jackson had a shot blocked at one end, but McCormack has just shown him how it's done with a near-perfect rising shot that cannons down off the underside of the bar and away. What an effort.
Charlton free kick in a central position about 40 yards out. Can the Addicks find something as two minutes of added time are signalled?
It comes to nothing and Brentford should be able to see this out until the break now.
HALF-TIME: CHARLTON 0-1 BRENTFORD
As things stand Charlton are going to make it nine games without a win, seven of those being defeats. They started the match superbly, but couldn't make their early pressure pay. Brentford came into it after the 15-minute mark and the only goal came after 25 minutes when Swift nodded home Judge's fabulous cross.
Luzon clearly had his men really up for today's game, but once their early zest wore off you could tell that they are team with little confidence. Watt has been bright for the hosts, but he's been let down by the finishing of his teammates.
Click here to see the Championship table as it stands. Brentford up to 13th, Charlton down to 23rd with results as they are right now.
HALF-TIME SCORES: Bolton 1-0 Leeds, Brighton 0-0 Preston, Huddersfield 1-1 Derby, Hull 2-0 Birmingham, Forest 0-0 Ipswich, QPR 0-0 MK Dons, Wolves 1-0 Boro
Charlton were out of the blocks so quickly, but Brentford just wrestled back more and more control as the half wore on. The Bees finished with 63% possession and have had 11 shots to Charlton's six. Big half needed for the Addicks and Luzon. Will he be gone if they don't turn this around? Malky Mackay's presence at The Valley today will only increase speculation.
Here are the Brentford players celebrating Swift's goal:

KICKOFF! The Addicks get us back underway. No changes from either manager.
Gorgeous passing football from Brentford as they work it from right to left with some neat, one-touch stuff. Bidwell advances into the box and if his cross had been an inch higher it would have been a free header for Judge.
Makienok loses his temper a bit after winning a free kick for the home side. Referee Stuart Attwell calls him over to calm him down. No booking. We didn't have a yellow card in the first half either.
The Charlton fans are getting extremely restless in the stands as their side continues to toil against this stubborn Brentford outfit.
GOAL! CHARLTON 0-2 BRENTFORD (ALAN JUDGE)
You beauty! Judge has been the standout player for Brentford today and this season and he's just scored his sixth in 13 Championship games with a peach of a curling effort that Henderson can do nothing about. Gorgeous finish.
Is that the nail in Luzon's coffin? Charlton are set to drop to second-bottom in the table and this would be their seventh defeat in nine games.
CHARLTON SUB: Just after the goal, Luzon made a change up front, with Reza Ghoochannejhad on for Makienok.
SUBS: More changes, with McAleny on for Moussa for Charlton and Kerschbaumer replacing the opening goalscorer Swift for the visitors.
Even though Charlton were so good in the first 10 minutes, the fact that they've done very little since just shows that there are big problems in the camp at the moment. They were obviously geed up from the pre-match team talk but they couldn't sustain that energy. It would be miraculous if they can get anything out of this now.
SAVE! McAleny into the action quickly as he tests Button with a low curler that the Brentford keeper pushes out to safety.
McAleny again cuts in from the left to have a shot, but this time it's a really tame effort that Button gathers with ease.
McCormack wins Brentford a corner and the Bees supporters behind that goal are loving it as star-man Judge comes over to take it.
It's another fine delivery from the Irishman, but this time Henderson is up well to claim the ball in the six-yard box.
BRENTFORD SUB: Carsley makes his second changes. Djuricin off, Vibe on up front. That should just give the visitors a bit more energy as they chase down the ball in the Charlton half.
Even Charlton's official Twitter account seems to have given up on this one:

CHARLTON SUB: Third and final change for the hosts. Young striker Ahearne-Grant is on for Watt, who's ran out of energy in the second half.
BOOKING! First yellow card of the match is shown to McAleny for a foul on Yennaris.
Charlton don't look like a team who think that they can score at least twice in the final 10 to get something here and it's Brentford who threaten as Woods whips over a dangerous cross from the right that goes all the way across the area without getting a touch.
With results elsewhere changing all the time, Brentford are down to 14th in the as it stands table. Still, they're just five points behind the playoffs and that's quite something after their poor start to the season. Charlton back up to 22nd as Leeds have equalised against Bolton.
SHOT! Gudmundsson is often dangerous with his left peg from distance but this fierce effort doesn't trouble Button as he blazes over.
GOAL! CHARLTON 0-3 BRENTFORD (LASSE VIBE)
The Charlton fans flock to the exit and surely this will be curtains for Luzon as well? Vibe puts the icing on the cake with a clever near-post finish form the left side of the area.
SIDE-NETTING! Into the final minute of the match and Brentford almost make it four as Dean heads into the side-netting from Judge's free kick.
FOUR minutes more for Charlton to endure.
Charlton doing absolutely nothing here. There's barely anyone left, Brentford fans excluded, inside The Valley.
FULL-TIME: CHARLTON 0-3 BRENTFORD
A third win in a row for Brentford, while it's seven defeats in nine for Charlton.
Thanks for joining Sports Mole this evening. I'll leave you with the Championship table and also point you in the direction of our coverage of the evening kickoff between Arsenal and Everton in the Premier League. Enjoy!
