Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has said that the 4-0 Champions League win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday was the perfect tonic following the Blues' torrid run of domestic form.
Jose Mourinho's men put their Premier League woes to one side as goals from Willian, Oscar, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas saw off Maccabi at Stamford Bridge.
The league champions, who sit 17th, have won just five points from a possible 15, having lost three times already, and Cahill says that the manner of tonight's win was just what the doctor ordered.
"It's a big confidence boost," he told BT Sport. "We knew we needed a win and it was the perfect game for us. It was a convincing win and a clean sheet. That was everything we were looking for."
The West Londoners host Arsenal on Saturday, but Mourinho revealed that both Pedro and Willian are likely to miss out through injury.
