Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has slammed Chelsea for a lack of creativity in their 3-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
The former Reds centre-back claimed that when Jose Mourinho's defensive setup fails to work, their attacking capabilities are often found wanting.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Carragher said: "We understand [Mourinho's] a great tactician in terms of setting a team up and being difficult to beat but when you have an off night, as they did against Atletico, this Chelsea team doesn't have enough creativity in it.
"Oscar, who was on the bench, still flatters to deceive, I like Eden Hazard, I like Willian. We know that Juan Mata wasn't Jose Mourinho's type of player and he's gone [to Manchester United].
"But they definitely lack creativity off the front and in central midfield to open teams up when the defence has an off night."
Atletico will meet local rivals Real Madrid in the final later this month.
