How Chelsea could line up against FC Krasnodar

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for their Champions League showdown with FC Krasnodar on Tuesday evening.

Chelsea will be looking to keep the momentum going from their impressive win over Leeds United when they welcome FC Krasnodar to Stamford Bridge for their final Champions League game in Group E.

The Blues fell behind to Marcelo Bielsa's men as Patrick Bamford capitalised on a defensive mix-up, but Frank Lampard soon witnessed his side turn the game on its head thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic in a 3-1 win as fans returned to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have little to play for in this Champions League encounter with their first-placed finish already confirmed, and Lampard's side trounced Krasnodar 4-0 when they made the long journey to Russia back in October.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for Tuesday's contest.

Out: Hakim Ziyech (hamstring), Callum Hudson-Odoi (hamstring)
Doubtful: None

Frank Lampard was blessed with a fully-fit contingent for the visit of Leeds - a luxury which lasted all of half an hour before Hakim Ziyech had to be replaced after suffering a hamstring strain.

The grade of Ziyech's injury is yet to be determined, but the winger is certain to be missing out this dead rubber, while Callum Hudson-Odoi has also been ruled out after picking up a hamstring problem of his own during training.

Aside from Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi, Lampard has everyone else raring to go for the clash with Krasnodar, but the Blues boss will no doubt make several changes with nothing on the line in this game, starting with Kepa Arrizabalaga being given a run-out in goal over Edouard Mendy.

Reece James - who bagged an assist in Chelsea's win over Leeds - may drop out for the experienced Cesar Azpilicueta, and a new-look backline could see Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Emerson Palmieri all come in for Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma and Ben Chilwell on Tuesday.

Lampard could very well opt for an identical midfield from Chelsea's 4-0 trouncing of Sevilla last week, meaning that Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic may start over N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount, who are likely to be spared for the trip to Everton.

Kai Havertz lasted just over an hour against Leeds on Saturday evening, and the Germany international may be forced to fill in at right-wing given Chelsea's injuries. Billy Gilmour has spent plenty of time on the sidelines recently, but the Scottish protege will line up from the first whistle here.

Up top, Olivier Giroud is in undroppable form at the moment and followed up his quartet of goals in Seville with Chelsea's first against Leeds. Tammy Abraham could be in contention to start as well, but Giroud has a prime opportunity to keep his prolific run going this week and should spearhead the Blues attack again.

The France international is likely to be supported out wide by Havertz, and on the opposite flank, Christian Pulisic came off the bench to wrap up the win over Leeds and could feature from the off, which would give Timo Werner a well-earned rest before Saturday's trip to Goodison Park.
