How Chelsea could line up against Liverpool

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for Tuesday night's FA Cup fifth round showdown against treble-chasing Liverpool.

Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening looking to derail the Premier League leaders' treble challenge by knocking them out of the FA Cup.

Both sides go into the fifth-round clash off the back of disappointing weekend results, with Chelsea being held by Bournemouth and Liverpool falling to their first league defeat of the season at Watford.

Chelsea's poor form stretches back further than Liverpool's though, with just one win in their last five outings and eight home defeats across all competitions already this term.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Frank Lampard could line his side up for the contest.

Out: N'Golo Kante (muscle), Christian Pulisic (adductor), Marco van Ginkel (knee), Tammy Abraham (ankle)
Doubtful: Callum Hudson-Odoi (hamstring), Andreas Christensen (knock)

Chelsea will once again be without Tammy Abraham for this match after the England international travelled to Barcelona to see a specialist regarding his ankle injury.

Lampard is still unsure as to how long he will be without his first-choice striker, but he is unlikely to take any risks over his fitness and has Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud waiting in the wings for this match.

Tuesday's match is also expected to come too soon for Callum Hudson-Odoi, N'Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic, but Lampard could choose something close to a first-choice XI from the players available to him.

The likes of Willian and Ross Barkley were named among the subs for the weekend draw with Bournemouth and will be hopeful of earning a starting role, while Pedro could keep his place in attack.

Perhaps the most intriguing selection will come in goal, with Willy Caballero having been the cup goalkeeper for much of the season before usurping Kepa Arrizabalaga as the number one in recent weeks.

Caballero was arguably at fault for one of Bournemouth's goals at the weekend, though, meaning that Kepa could be given the chance to win his place back.

The hosts will also most likely be without Andreas Christensen after Lampard revealed the centre-back has a "small issue", while Antonio Rudiger's fitness continues to be monitored closely.
