Teenage midfielder Billy Gilmour has been sidelined since the summer with a knee injury, which he has since had an operation on. The 19-year-old will remain on the treatment table until October at the very least.

Hakim Ziyech is yet to make his competitive debut for the Blues after picking up a knock in a pre-season friendly against Brighton. The former Ajax man will play no part this weekend but is closing in on a return to action.

Possible return date: September 26 (vs. West Brom)
Christian Pulisic has seen his return to action delayed after suffering from discomfort, and the American was not involved against Brighton, Liverpool or Barnsley. Lampard is not expected to take any unnecessary risks over Pulisic's fitness and the winger is set to miss out again here.
